Door to Door Luggage Carrying Service - Frequently Asked Questions
Q1) How long before my departure date should I book my luggage to be collected?
A1) We would prefer to have 30 days notice of bookings before departure dates. We will take bookings of less days but require you to call to check availability if less than 14 days before departure.
Q2) What do I need to do to prepare for my luggage collection?
A2) All you need to do is ensure all luggage labels issued by your cruise line have been attached to all items we are collecting. Our driver will add the security labels with your unique serial number on collection.
Q3) How does my return collection at the docks work?
A3) You will need to clear customs with your luggage, then a Baggage Handling Representative will be in arrivals to meet you with a clearly marked board. Our representatives will be present in arrivals from 8am, should you be given an earlier disemabarkation time, please call us or email us to let us know.
Q4) Do you use any third parties for collections or deliveries?
A4) No, all collections and deliveries are undertaken by The Baggage Handling Company in our own branded vehicles by drivers hand picked by ourselves.
Q5) Will I be given a collection date & time when I book?
A5) We will usually be able to provide you with a date & AM or PM time slot for collection at the time of booking. If not, the latest we will provide you with this information will be 7 days before departure date. (Please note on some occasions, collections for Scotland may be arranged slightly outside of 3/4 days before departure if we have further collections/deliveries for that particular time)
Q6) Do you deal with unaccompanied luggage for world and sector cruising?
A6) Yes we do. We can collect your luggage in the usual way from your home address and deliver to the ship on the agreed date with the shipping line for unaccompanied luggage.If required, we can also collect unaccompanied luggage on the ships return to UK port. This collection would take place after the luggage has been released by customs, usually 1/2 days after the ships arrival in port.
